A 12-year-old girl from Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex was stunned to receive a report card from a school she never attended. Patcham High School blamed Sophie Bond for absenteeism and issued a five-subject report for her.

Though the report card praised Sophie for her excellence in English language, the school authorities were not impressed with her mathematics and advised Sophie to work hard.

According to BBC reports, her mother Diane said, "The school doesn't know whether Sophie is there or not but has quite clearly given her results."

Though Sophie was admitted to the school and attended a day there for prospective students, she later decided to enroll in Oakmeeds Community College in Burgess Hill.

A spokeswoman for the school, when contacted, said the error occurred due to a change in computer systems and staffing. The administrative staff confused Sophie with another student with the same name.

"We are confident that measures are now in place to prevent this happening again," the school said.
