Local police are investigating the theft of more than $1,500 worth of sex toys stolen during the Southeastern Erotic Cultural Conference in Jacksonville over the weekend.

The victims are three women who were selling the adult novelties at the convention being held at the Radisson Riverwalk Hotel.

The vendors told police someone took two pairs of leather and metal bondage suspension cuffs, a 28-inch-long leather whip, bath salts, rainbow pot holders and an electrical stimulation device.

According to police, the theft happened between 6 p.m. Saturday and just after 2 a.m. Sunday.

The crime was discovered when a hotel security guard found a conference room open and a broken key in the lock. The weekend conference featured an erotic art show and classes.
