A 19.6 feet long python has become the inseparable part of a Cambodian family, since its arrival. The giant female snake has more or less been adopted by the family.
According to a report by Reuters, the snake has been living from past six years with the family in a village some forty kilometers outside of Cambodian capital Phnom Penh. The family's youngest member, 6-year-old Sambath Uon, has become especially attached to her.
Sambath's mother, Kim Kanara said she has prayed for it to remain in their home as she believes it has brought luck to her family.
Symbolically, the python has been named Chomreun, which means lucky in Khmer. The family says it cannot imagine life without Chomreun.
They shelter, feed, bathe and even pray to it sometimes.
Kim said that "some people come here and ask for holy water from the python and some recovered from their sickness."
