Nepal has rounded up almost two dozen people for illicit sexual activities in a tourist area. At least 22 persons were arrested on charges of being involving in felony sexual activities from different hotels and restaurants in Rupendehi district of Nepal in the last two days.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagat Man Shrestha told local media that the convicts were arrested on Friday and Saturday after being caught red handed in local restaurants and hotels.
The arrested youths will be charged with a case of causing a public offence, the police official added. It isn't the first time for such arrests in the area, only a few weeks ago police arrested three other couples for their involvement in similar activities.
Police claimed that they would step up efforts to curb such sexual activities, the ekantipur.com, a local news portal, reported.
Rupandehi district, a part of Lumbini zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia.
