A British council has banned people from having sex in graveyards.

Colchester Borough Council was forced to take action after dozens of mourners complained about the "disrespectful" behaviour in the town cemetery.

They have now drawn up a list of rules which visitors must adhere to - and these include no heavy petting, no bikinis and no parties.

Councillor Tim Young said: "While I agree it is reasonable for people to celebrate the memories of a loved one at the cemetery, when mourners start cracking open the lagers they are going too far.

"It is just not acceptable for people to act in an anti-social or disrespectful way in a graveyard."
