Prince, a six-year-old boy, trapped for 50 hours in a 50-feet long 16-inch wide pit in Northern Indian district of Kurukshetra, has been rescued by Indian Army personnel on Sunday. Prince slipped into the pit on Friday while playing near it.
Two soldiers pulled out the six-year-old, as army personnel dug a tunnel from a dried up well parallel to the narrow and dark pit, reports PTI.
Rescuers also used a closed circuit camera to monitor Prince's condition and talk to him. They sent food and water to the boy and supplied Oxygen into the pit through a pipe, media report said.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who joined millions in praying for the boy, sent his blessings to Prince`s family and announced the government would take responsibility for his full medical care.
