Marion Munk, 69, got into a confrontation with police last Wednesday in Piscataway, N.J., as she was reportedly placing handmade anti-Democrat election posters around her neighborhood.
Recalling the incident to The Star-Ledger of Newark, Munk said that while backtracking, she noticed at one intersection, where utility crews were working, her sign was gone, but two pro-Democrat signs were still there.
She said that when she asked what happened to her sign a police officer controlling the traffic told her to move along. Munk said that's when things got physical.
She said Sgt. Wayne Vakulchick grabbed the sign from her, while the cop's written report claimed that Munk threw a punch and hit him in the chest. The report also stated that the board was removed because it was in the way of utility workers.
Munk also said she was handcuffed to a wall at police headquarters for more than four hours after her arrest.
Munk has filed a complaint with the police department. She faces a court date Thursday, meanwhile police are still investigating the case.
