A 9-year-old girl burned herself to death following abuse by her father and paternal grandmother.

The girl was studying in Class IV and she looked to her teachers at her school for attention.

She barged in through the classroom windows with two kerosene lamps. She then doused herself with kerosene and lit herself on fire.

According to Express News Service, the young girl was unable to bear the torture of her father, who constantly beat her and her grandmother, who used her as a work-machine. Her mother was working as a housemaid in a different part of the state.
