A 92-year old man's recent marriage was quickly annulled after a judge deemed him unable to manage his responsibilities as a husband.

The annulment was on the first ever marriage of Alfred Kreisler, a South Florida lawyer who married 43-year old divorcee Yvette Penichet October of last year.

The marriage was declared void after three mental health professionals confirmed that Kreisler "did not have the capacity to manage his own affairs or marry."

A settlement led Penichet to give up the wedding ring, as well as any rights to Kreisler's $22-million assets.

Several of Kreisler's relatives had in the past shown contempt for the union, reported the Miami Herald, such as his nieces, 51-year old Susan Kreisler Kupferberg and 55-year old Francine Kreisler Price, both of whom filed the request for annulment on Nov. 8.

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Ronald Dresnick appointed the two as Kreislers co-guardians, and excluded Penichet from the joint account Kreisler opened two days after the marriage. The account added up to $7.7 million, with Penichet immediately transferring $30,000 to her son from a previous marriage.

Terry Abrams Berger, a member of the nieces' legal team, also revealed that Penichet had tried to get hold of all of Kreisler's assets, by attempting to withdraw $400,097.53 for a Rolls Royce.

The bank, however, refused to clear the funds.

The UPI reported that the nieces decided not to file any charges against Penichet.

In argument, however, Penichet's lawyers insisted that she was fond of Kreisler, and wanted to take care of him and prevent him from ending up in a nursing home.
