A nine-year-old Indonesian-Chinese math prodigy on Tuesday started his university studies in Hong Kong, the Chinese media reported.
And it looks like March Tian Boedihardjo is off to become the youngest holder of a master's degree by breezing through his first lessons at the Hong Kong Baptist University. The Hong Kong-born Boedihardjo described the mathematical analysis lecture on Tuesday as easy and said he learned it two years ago.
The boy also attended a Spanish class.
The university admitted the boy to a five-year bachelor's and master's degree program in August after he passed special math tests in the United Kingdom and taking up courses at the Oxford University.
The HKPU tailor-made the course for him. HKBU president Ng Ching-fai said they will adjust the curriculum if March finds it easy.
March's father, Tony, will also attend the boy's lesson for six months.
