An advertisement the Gay Police Association (GPA) published in the U. K. newspaper, The Independent, was pulled for implying Christians were responsible for a huge rise in "hate crime" attacks on homosexuals. The ad depicted a Bible and a pool of blood under text that read "in the name of the father. " It also claimed the GPA has recorded a 74 percent increase in homophobic incidence where the only or main motivating factor was the perpetrator's religious beliefs.

The Fort Myers Beach Council voted 4-1 in favor of allowing the Surf Club bar to make use of the name Turkey Testicle Festival. Councilman Charles Meador said this year's festival will be the fourth and cited more than 12 other cities that allow annual events with the word "testicle. "

The artist behind New York City's famous "Charging Bull" bronze statue found in the Wall Street financial district has filed a copyright infringement suit against Wal-Mart stores and North Fork Bancorp. New York artist Arturo Di Modica filed a case on the U. S. District Court in Manhattan claiming that Wal-Mart is "knowingly and willfully selling and marketing" reproductions of the iconic statue without the artist's permission.

Allen Snyder's 14-inch tall red-and-white garden gnome went missing in the spring and has now been apparently traveling the country. Since its disappearance, Snyder has received three letters to have been written by "Gnomey. " The latest letter, showed the gnome attending Pittsburgh's football home opener surrounded by Steelers fans.

An Australian man could be persecuted for allegedly sending two billion spam emails advertising Viagra. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) announced that it obtained a search warrant to inspect the home as part of the spam investigation.
