A man aimed and shot at his own son after mistaking him for a burglar attempting to creep into his home at night. Mohd Sobri realized he shot his own son, 18-year-old Mohd Zulfaqor Mohd Sobri, after the teen started screaming about how he was shot in the leg. "It was dark and I only saw a silhouette," Sobri said according to the AFP. "My son did not turn on the lights and I thought it was a thief who had broken into our house. "

A local man was apprehended by police for using a hedgehog as a weapon and throwing it at a teenager. According to police, 27-year old William Singalargh took the hedgehog and threw it about 16 feet at a 15-year old boy.

British magazine Bookseller recently published poll results that revealed the past year's three strangest book titles, continuing the magazine's annual trend. The award, named the Diagram Prize, for the oddest book title for 2007 was given to one titled "If You Want Closure In Your Relationship, Start With Your Legs. "

A Chihuahua became a local spectacle at a Japanese temple, after the dog began to imitate the worshipers by clasping his front paws together, a position similar to hands placed together in prayer. The dog, a two-year old long-haired Chihuahua named Conan, would reportedly assume the praying position taken by temple worshipers, as a way of asking for doggie treats.

As thousands of Irish citizens took to the streets in celebration of St. Patrick's Day, several leaders have raised concerns about the need for people to practice restraint when drinking during the celebration. Local authorities announced that they will be keeping a closer eye on people's drinking consumption for this year's celebration, in an effort to avoid incidents such as street fighting or drunk driving - events that have reportedly occurred in the past, right after the celebrations.
