A Swedish court has sentenced a Somali man to four years in prison after he forced his 13-year-old daughter to undergo circumcision. Swedish citizen Ali Elmi Hayow, 41, held his daughter down as she underwent the procedure. He denies all charges.

A new Australian study reveals that couples that have both a daughter and son are less likely to divorce than those who only have daughters or only have sons. The study, which was conducted by the Australian National University, reveals that parents that have a boy and a girl are more likely to be happy in their marriage and less likely to separate and that unmarried parents are more likely to tie the knot if they have a child of each gender.

"Ice Bear" Lewis Gordon Pugh has broken his own world record for the longest ice water swim on Friday. Lewis swam for 1. 2 kilometres inside the Norwegian mountains where the water temperature in the lake, about 300km northeast of Bergen, was just above zero degrees.

An 11-year-old girl from Africa gave birth to a baby boy at Hillingdon Hospital, in Uxbridge of Western London, The Sun reported. The girl had gone to the hospital complaining of stomach pains and went into labor as she sat on the toilet. The baby was kept at the hospital in a special care unit, and the girl was taken into the care of Hillingdon Borough Council, the report said.
