Angry bees forced a Florida middle school to shut down for over three hours after a man operating a bulldozer nearby hit a hive of Africanized honey bees. After being chased by the bees for several hundred yards, the man was stung several times but was not seriously injured. The Palm Beach Post reported that authorities at the Forest Grove Middle School in Fort Pierce were forced to shut down the school within 10 minutes of the incident. It resulted in rerouting the buses and delaying students' homecoming.

Professional German diver Wilfried Thiesen was diving in an underwater cave off Mauritius along the coast of Africa when he found a 1976 Notre Dame class ring. Thiesen sent an email to Notre Dame describing the class ring he had found and Steve Ruic, writer on staff, received the email. Ruic, in turn, sent out notices about the ring to the alumni and staff, but no one came forward.

A Dallas-bound American Airlines flight from Tokyo was forced to make an emergency landing in Honolulu after its pilots heard some noise in the cockpit; which later turned out to be a squirrel. Airline spokesman John Hotard told The Honolulu Star-Bulletin, the pilot made the decision to land midway as he feared that the animal could have chewed through wiring or caused other problems.

Freedom is the most precious thing to every living being, be it humans or birds. A female vulture from a Dallas Zoo found her long awaited freedom last weekend by escaping from the zoo. The Dallas Morning News reported that zoo officials are currently searching for the bird in the Dallas region. However, officials have assured the public that the vulture is of no threat to children, people or pets.

A court in South Africa has fined a man $140 for faking his "pregnancy" so he could take some days off from his work. The magistrates in Vereeniging, near Johannesburg in South Africa, ordered Charles Sibindana, 27, to pay $140 for faking a document.
