The new age of Internet has not only influenced the lives of human beings but now it has managed to make a difference in the lives of man's best friend - dogs.
Just like their owners, thousands of dogs have their own profiles on a Facebook subsite called Dogbook. The site offers them a chance to expand their social network and make new friends.
With 1,500 new entrants every week, there are currently more than 35,000 Dogbook users till date. The Web Site allows dogs owners to upload photos of their dogs, along with their personal details ranging from their favorite activities and parks.
Special facilities are provided for "Dog dating" where the owners who live nearby can meet up to go for walks together.
Daily Mail reports that all Facebook users can automatically sign up to Dogbook. There are about four million Facebook users in Britain alone.
Apart from dogs, there is also another application called Catbook, which has attracted 15,000 users so far. The two special sits are created by two Canadians - Geoffrey Roche, 54, and his 21-year-old son Alex. They have attracted 610,000 users globally.
