An aggressive dog in Casper, Wyoming has terrorized the mail carriers in the area so much that the local post office has decided to discontinue the service to the entire neighborhood.

According to the latest orders, twenty-four homeowners on Navarre Road must now get their mail from a nearby community mailbox after Casper Postmaster Susan Gray ordered that postal workers are to stay away from the neighborhood.

The Jackson Hole (Wyo.) Star-Tribune reported Tuesday that the dog, which is a cross breed of a shepherd and chow mix has chased five different letter carriers on eight different occasions.

Though Butch has not bitten any letter carriers, the post master says he does not want to take the chance.

Jolene Whittle, Butch's owner however maintains that he has problems with mailmen, but is always friendly to visitors. She also insisted she and her husband would always shy away from an aggressive animal in the house with their young daughters, ages 2 and 4.
