The local airline Flybe played cupid to a lovestruck man who was smitten with a fellow passenger on board a flight from Belfast to Newcastle.
Reportedly, Michael Young was seating in 2C, while Juliet Lever was in seat 2B during the flight. Young engaged Lever in a conversation during the flight but was too shy to ask for her number.
He said he fell in love with the girl and he contacted the airline and begged the airline's executives to locate Juliet and ask her to get in touch with him.
Luckily for him the airline obliged and convinced the 29-year old Juliet to call him and agreed to go on a date. After a whirlwind romance, the two are set to tie the knot next month.
Michael, who has a home in Northern Ireland, was on a business trip to the North East.
He told The Sun, "We chatted for the duration of the flight but we never got round to asking if the other was single. That's probably the reason I didn't pluck up the courage to ask Juliet for her number. Flybe were great and eventually got us together."
Juliet, who now lives with Michael in Manchester adds, "Every girl dreams of a fairytale romance and you couldn't get better than this."
Flybe customer relations chief Ella Jones told the newspaper, "Michael's tale pulled heart strings so we played cupid."
