Woman Crashes Car Into Salon, Still Proceeds With Hair Appointment

A 73-year old woman rammed her car straight through Tina's Hair Pro's window Wednesday, according to police officials of Soldotna, Alaska. Driver Della Miller explained she lost control of her 2006 GMC Envoy while driving through snow-covered pavement and crashed into the front window of the salon she was heading to for a hair appointment. The collision resulted in two broken plate-glass windows, damaged walls and the salon's stone-work front, and some broken heating pipes.

Six Iraqi-American "cultural sensitivity" trainers give American Airlines an F. A climber who was told he would never be able climb again after he lost his fingers and toes to frostbite eight years ago, has become the first Briton to complete the 7x7 peaks challenge. Nigel Vardy, who nearly died in 1999 while ascending Mount McKinley in Alaska, has claimed a place in the record books by scaling the seven highest peaks on the world's seven largest islands.

Female Red-Tail Hawk Delays Traffic On Philadelphia Highway

Commuters on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia had no choice but to reach for their camera phones when an injured hawk caused traffic jam for on Thursday morning. The 8-week-old female red-tail hawk, which was found with a broken wing on the highway, required a rescue effort that contributed to delays of about 15 minutes. According to AP reports, a team from Pennsylvania Game Commission rescued the bird at about 9:30 am and took it to the Webbed Foot Wildlife Clinic. The bird will be treated or euthanized, depending on the severity of its injury.

Britain Braces For Rubber Duck Invasion, Toy Ducks Fell Overboard Cargo Ship 15 Years Ago

The first of some 29,000 rubber ducks that have been circling the world's oceans for 15 years are expected to wash up on a beach in England sometime soon. The toys fell overboard from a cargo ship bound for Seattle from China in 1992, according to the BBC.
