A new billboard campaign suggests tourists take a trip to Alaska before it's too late. The billboards, displayed in Seattle, Los Angeles and Minneapolis, largely suggest "Alaska B4UDIE'' - short for, Alaska, before you die. The Alaska Travel Industry Association launched the monthlong, $180,000 campaign Monday.

The Alaska Zoo plans to use a 16,000-pound treadmill specifically built for its overweight elephant Maggie. Zoo director Tex Edwards is optimistic she can get the more than 4-ton animal to use the machine.

Scientists have discovered a track from a three-toed dinosaur said to be about 70 million years old, in the Denali national Park, in Alaska. According to an Associated Press report, a University of Alaska Fairbanks student first discovered the footprint on June 27, while taking a geology field course.
