Police in the German town of Krefeld arrest a drunk hearse driver for biting an officer. Reuters reports that police requested a hearse to transport a body to the cemetery.

Good news is in store for connoisseurs of refined and rare libations, a Scottish distillery announces it is reviving a centuries-old recipe for whisky so strong that one 17th-century writer feared more than two spoonfuls could be deadly. However, whisky connoisseurs ready to test their mettle will have to wait - the spirit will not be ready for at least 10 years.

Thieves in Wisconsin must really like Miller beer. They stole nearly $26,000 worth of the alcohol beverage from a trucking company in Richfield. The Associated Press reports, a Washington County Sheriff's report says a semi-trailer filled with cans and bottles of Miller beer was found empty four days later.

Someone broke into a Wisconsin state probation and parole office, leaving with urine samples of those under court orders not to use alcohol or illegal drugs. Agents working out of the state Department of Corrections Probation and Parole office occasionally require those under court orders to submit samples for testing.

Vietnam's government against "social evils" has evidently targeted Karaoke bars since they will no longer be allowed to sell or have alcohol on their premises. Under the new legislation that went into effect Thursday, karaoke bars, along with discotheques, are legally bound to close at midnight.
