A cardboard cutout of President Bush with a knife through his head has prompted Secret Service agents to investigate an Alameda man.
Michael McDonald complains he was not only questioned by two agents about his personal history and his political views but was also asked to show his medical records.
The cutout also shows painted blood running over the president's eyes and down the bridge of his nose. It also reads: "It is very sad that we are outraged at a word like F****** and indifferent to a word like War."
The Oakland Tribune quotes McDonald who was questioned for 90 minustes as saying "They said, 'You've got a knife sitting in the head of the president of the United States.'" "I said, 'No, I got a knife in a piece of cardboard.'"
When asked if McDonald perceived his work as a threat against the country's chief executive, he answered in negative.
The 55-year-old Navy veteran has been placing art in his front yard for 13 years and rotates the pieces monthly. Bush's artwork is a part of an ongoing 12 year exhibit in McDonald's front yard and also made him an object of unwanted attention.
"I stand on my principles," he said. "I am not going to quit doing what I am doing."
