It may be known for gorgeous beaches and trendy nightclubs but now Miami has a new claim to fame. Miami drivers speed, tailgate and cut off other drivers so frequently that the city earned the title of worst road rage in a survey released Tuesday. AutoVantage is an automobile membership club offering travel services and roadside assistance. The club also listed Phoenix, New York, Los Angeles and Boston among the top five cities for rude driving.

Some California drivers are taking advantage of the freeway service patrol by deliberately running dry on the state's freeways and waiting for rescue. "Every time fuel goes up, we start noticing it. But right now we are noticing it a lot more," Andy Lujan, owner of California Coach Towing in Orange County, said on Tuesday.

California police arrest a man who used super glue to bind the hands of two hostages, as well as pouring the glue into their mouths. Reuters reports that police are baffled by Rene Avila's behavior. They speculate the 36-year-old may have had a relationship with the two hostages.

An principal trying to prevent walkouts during immigration rallies inadvertently introduced a lockdown so strict that children weren't allowed to go to the bathroom, and instead had to use buckets in the classroom. Worthington Elementary School Principal Angie Marquez imposed the lockdown March 27 as nearly 40,000 students across Southern California left classes to attend immigrants' rights demonstrations.

A man is sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to illegally possessing an alligator he dumped into an urban lake where it eluded capture for months. Anthony Brewer, 36, of Los Angeles was ordered Wednesday to complete 45 days of work for the California Department of Transportation. Under California law, it is illegal to keep alligators as private pets.
