The Philippine Supreme Court rebuked a regional trial court judge in Caloocan City, north of the capital Manila, for using "disrespectful language" in her court documents filed before the high tribunal. Judge Adoracion Angeles was also warned by the SC that she faces serious sanctions if she does not stop this egregious practice. Court records showed Angeles filed several complaints against Senior State Prosecutor Emmanuel Velasco in retaliation for the 10 administrative charges filed by Velasco against her for alleged gross ignorance of the law, manifest impartiality and bad faith.

Kent Couch flew 193 miles in nothing but a lawn chair and 105 helium balloons from his Oregon home last weekend. He could have made it longer but he didn't want to press his luck. Couch packed some snacks and plenty of water for the trip, which he made once before. In September he flew for about six hours but did not thoroughly plan the descent and had to use a parachute to make an emergency landing.

A University of California, Los Angeles student, who was given Paris Hilton's former cell phone number by her wireless company, said she is inundated with late night calls and messages meant for the hotel heiress. The student, Shira Barlow, accidentally dropped her phone in water and when she tried to replace it, her phone company insisted on reassigning her new phone number. In just two days of owning the number, Barlow was flooded with calls and texts pouring in with questions about the parties and other stuff. If this was not enough, many people sent her support messages after Hilton was sentenced to jail May 4.

An elusive 6 1/2 foot former pet alligator was captured Friday and taken to the zoo. Known as "Reggie," the reptile has been hiding out at Harbor Regional Park's Lake Machado for two years, ever since its former owner discarded it when it grew too large. On Thursday, the gator came out to sun itself and officials were waiting with equipment to trap the unsuspecting beast.
