An irate Briton, determined to stand up to authorities, sawed his stepson's car in half, all for the reason of making a point.

The man, 40-year old Ian Taylor, decided to go to drastic measures after his son's Ford Fiesta was clamped and impounded by authorities accusing it of having been illegally parked. The ruling was made, however, with merely two inches of the vehicle's rear wheel sticking out of the driveway.

Outraged, Taylor took a power disc and cut the entire car in half, afterwards telling authorities to take the rear half of the vehicle, as it was the only part that was allegedly breaking the law.

"I had to make a point," said Taylor, according to the London Telegraph. "These people are so petty and they just won't listen to you."

Taylor reportedly attempted to reason with NCP Services, which was responsible for clamping the car and deeming it illegally parked. The frustrated father stated that they had a permit to have the vehicle parked where it was, as the car was beyond repair and they decided to park it on his drive.

An NCP Services spokesperson stated that photographs revealed that half of the car was illegally parked, and that there was no need for Taylor's outrageous actions.

"Fortunately, the only damage was done to his car and as far as our people are concerned we stand by what they did," said communications manager James Pritchard to BBC.
