A Kenyan man killed a lion with his bare hands in Samburu, about 260 kilometers northeast of the capital Nairobi, only to be attacked by a pack of hyenas a few moments later, the country's media reported Tuesday. He succumbed to his injuries and died in hospital Monday.

A dog who was recently neutered reportedly returned to the office of the veterinarian responsible for performing the operation on him. Dr. Steve Walstad said that upon driving past his office he found Radar, a black, mix-breed dog, lying in front of the Animal Clinic.

Two runaway pot-bellied pigs turned what would have been a simple chase into a 35-minute complete crowd pursuit, involving two animal control officers, two police officers, and two utility company workers Wednesday morning. The pigs reportedly ran amidst speeding cars and trotted across a number of streets in the west side of Davenport, Iowa. The chasers were apparently at a loss, attempting all tactics from cornering the two animals to just plain diving for them, unfortunately missing.

Some 115 venomous Asiatic cobras were seized by Malaysian police authorities from a wildlife trader who is now under police interrogation. The snakes were found in his pet shop locked in several cages in northern Perlis state, Simpang Empat, official said Wednesday. The shop's owner was arrested by the Malaysia's Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) when his shop was raided on Monday.

In addition to a two-year probation, an Australian woman found guilty of animal sacrifice in a Brisbane church last month was ordered by the courts to issue an apology to the goat owners last Monday. Tracy Lee Arnold, aged 26, was accused of slaughtering a pet goat named Maddie at the Bellbowrie Community Church, as reported by Political Gateway. Arnold pled guilty to the charges of three counts of stealing and the injuring of an innocent animal - all of which was claimed to have been part of a Friday the 13th prank.
