A man has sought the assistance of his country's Supreme court after a donkey he was supposed to buy ate his money. Al Shuruk al Yawmi, an Algerian newspaper published in the town of Tizi Ouzou north of the country, reported the customer and the seller were traditionally bargaining for price for too long and failed to notice the donkey consuming the stack of banknotes meant as a payment for him.

A veterinary doctor has extracted a 7-inch toy rubber lizard from a 12-inch bearded dragon named Mushu after its owner thought the dragon might be having a baby. When seven-year-old Finley Collins noticed an unusual protrusion near the lizard's tail she became worried of her pet and rushed her to the animal hospital.

A Grand Haven surfer used his board to rescue a struggling dog that a big wave swept off a pier in Lake Michigan on Tuesday. The black-and-brown mixed breed pooch was walking with his owner without a leash when a big wave swept him off. A surfer, Matt Smolenski immediately jumped into the sea after him and got hold of his collar.

Scientists at the Brandeis University in Massachusetts were saddened when a "gifted" parrot died after 30 years of helping researchers better understand the avian brain. Scientists said, the death of "Alex," an African Grey parrot, left them feeling as if they had lost a loyal colleague.

An Idaho woman got a big surprise when a mother moose tried to bash its way into her home. Anita Ovard saw two baby moose in her yard when she arrived home, but got a close-up view of the mother when the moose tried to jump through her storm door and front door.
