Nearly half of Americans questioned in a new opinion poll mistakenly believe they can contract bird flu by eating chicken. Forty-seven percent of respondents including nearly half of college graduates agreed with the false statement that eating an infected chicken can result in bird-flu transmission. The survey sampled 1,007 Americans and was commissioned by the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) and conducted by Opinion Research Corporation.

A new study reveals that over one-fourth of dogs in the United Kingdom might also be dealing with the same amount of stress as their human owners most often do. These dogs typically suffer from the results of poor health and negligence from their owners, who usually work overtime hours in the office, leaving their pets at home for long periods with no proper care.

Five hundred years after being hunted to extinction, beavers are being reintroduced to England. Six European beavers have been released at Lower Mill Estate near South Cerney, Gloucestershire, and are the first in centuries to roam wild in England. The six adult rodents were caught in Bavaria in the spring and have spent the last few months in quarantine.
