A group of French demonstrators took to the streets to protest the coming of the New Year.

The demonstrators were carrying placards and banners saying "No to 2007" and "Now is better" as they marched through the streets of Nantes in Frances.

They also called on the United Nations to end the "mad race" of time. They want the U.N. to declare an indefinite suspension of the future.

But the protest was just an attempt to make fun of French people's apparent fondness of rejecting all kinds of change and as a different way to greet the New Year.

When the clock stroke midnight to signal the start of 2007, the protesters moved on to the next stage of their campaign and chanted, "No to 2008."
