A family was temporarily displaced after a deer ran into their home and startled the family. Officials are describing the incident as a bizarre occurrence.

According to police, a deer who was apparently spooked by some dogs that were let out of the kennel, went into the apartment because it was trying to get away from some kids outside.

Jerry Faulkner, who lived in that apartment, said, "I heard glass breaking and thought someone was breaking in. The next thing I know, a deer is running toward my room."

When the deer ran into the bathroom, the family locked the door to the bathroom.

However, the family's pet pit bull was also in the bathroom at the time. The dog was knocked unconscious by the deer.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources took the deer away after they had tranquilized it.

Police officer Victor Cera said, "In the 16 years that I've been doing this, I've seen all kinds of stuff. But this is probably the most bizarre."
