The aptly named Archery Park here has suddenly banned bows and arrows, shocking visitors and park regulars.
One visitor expressed shock and incredulity when he read a warning that a city ordinance had prohibited bows and arrows in the park.
He told Newsvine that he just could not believe that the archery park will no longer entertain his bows and arrows.
He added that even his other archer friends could not believe that the park where they used to practice their archery skills will not allow it anymore.
Archery Park has served archers in the city for more than 20 years. The park was closed last September after a resident near it complained of finding an arrow in his yard.
According to Parks Superintendent Phil Jhonson, the city had created an earthen archery tower for deer hunters to practice shooting from a platform.
"The residents have their own concerns," Jhonson concluded.
