A bingo-playing grandmother faces three to 18 years in federal prison for smuggling pot. Leticia Villareal Garcia, 61, had 214 pounds of marijuana in her car trunk when Arizona state troopers pulled her over last year. Villareal was convicted of drug running after jurors rejected her argument that she had been tricked into carrying drugs. Villareal said that her only income was a monthly $275 welfare check that she supplemented by regularly playing bingo and occasionally winning thousands of dollars.

Arizona received some bad news when the smart state ranking was released on Tuesday. The state ranked 50 for the second year in a row. Arizona was preceded by Nevada, Mississippi, California and Alaska. At the top was Vermont in the number one spot, followed by Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Maine.

Thieves have come up with a new way to steal money - they carry it away with a forklift. Around the country, police are reporting thieves are stealing forklifts from construction sites and taking ATMs with them. The thefts have happened this summer in Arizona, California and Georgia. Phoenix has had 21 attempts alone. ATM manufacturers are working on ways to stop the thefts.
