Five people were killed and eight others injured on Tuesday when thunderbolts struck them in different villages in the Tangail and Sherpur districts in Bangladesh. The BDNEWS, a local news agency, reported that Monwar Hossain (14), Jahangir Alam (15) and Ehsanul Haque (14) were killed by lightning at Kalihati, Dhulutia and Amjani villages under Gopalpur upazila in Tangail district.

Sierra Vista, AZ (AHN)-Exterminators have removed a hive containing an estimated quarter-million Africanized bees from a home near Bisbee, Arizona where a man was fatally stung last week. Three-nine year-old Charlie Pasley died after being stung about 300 times by a swarm of bees as he was working on the roof of his home with his father, 62-year-old Chuck Pasley, who was stung about 100 times but suffered no serious effects.

Pranksters release two live snakes during a showing of "Snakes on a Plane" in a Phoenix, Arizona theater. AMC Entertainment Inc. spokeswoman Melanie Bell says two diamondback rattlesnakes were set loose during the movie, which is about deadly snakes terrorizing passengers on a plane. She tells Reuters, "One was found in the parking lot during the show, and the other in the movie theater. They were both removed, and no one was harmed. "

An Arizona woman sets a record for the Scottsdale Police Department by getting 70 speeding tickets in five months. Speeding cameras captured Francesca Cisneros as she raced through the city in her Honda Civic between March 2 and July 31. Scottsdale Police Department spokesman Mark Clark tells Reuters, "She told arresting officers she was speeding because she seemed to be late for client meetings all the time. . . I guess she's got some time management issues. "

A bystander may have saved a cyclist's life when he lifted a car off the trapped teen. Kyle Holtrust, 18, was hit by a car while he biked along a Tucson, Arizona highway. He became pinned underneath the vehicle.
