A prediction goes wrong, after an astrologer survives the day he predicted would be the last of his life.
On Thursday, hundreds of people made their way to the village in central India he calls home to see if he would die as predicted.
The 75-year-old man stayed alive throughout the entire day. Kunjilal Malviya stayed inside his home after announcing he would die Thursday between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., local time.
A police official says the astrologer is fine. The astrologer's family says the prediction failed because many of those gathered outside the home prayed for him to survive.
His son, Anirudh, says, "We are afraid of his prediction coming true because all his predictions to date have been correct. My father had predicted the death of my grandfather 15 years ago and it came true exactly like he calculated."
