Authorities apprehended a man who they said was driving over 200 kilometers an hour while arguing with his wife on his mobile phone.

According to officials, the 33-year old driver was apprehended driving his pickup truck early Thursday on the roads of the Perth suburbs.

She added that the driver admitted he was on his mobile phone while behind the wheel. In fact, the driver was still on the phone, and was arguing with his wife, when police apprehended his vehicle.

Upon testing the driver's alcohol, authorities detected an amount that exceeded the legal 0.05 percent limit, deeming him intoxicated. He was also said to be operating his vehicle without a license.

GoldCoast reported that the man was scheduled to face the Fremanlte Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

His vehicle was impounded for 48 hours.
