A man who took photos of children and female staff members in a school bathroom has been jailed for four months.
Adrian Alan Mayne worked as a maintenance worker at a Tasmanian school and drilled holes in the walls of the bathroom. He then used a camera owned by the school to take pictures of girls' breasts and other private parts.
Mayne then worked on the pictures on a computer, using digital techniques to put the adult teachers in sexual positions. Out of the 36 photographs he had taken, Mayne had created 90 images.
Students at the South Arm Primary School, both male and female, say they are traumatized by Mayne's actions. One student was so terrified about using the public bathroom that he soiled himself in class.
The 31-year-old husband and father was jailed for just four months but put on a sexual predators list for the next ten years.
Justice Peter Evans, of the Tasmanian Supreme Court, told the court, "The discovery of his conduct has caused anxiety and disgust. It is not difficult to envisage what effect this will have on his wife and children. He is totally remorseful and ashamed by what he has done."
