Australian Robbie Maddison broke Monday night the world record for the longest motorcycle jump at an exhibition at the Rio All-Suite Casino and Hotel.

Maddison leapt 322 feet, 7˝ inches (98.34 meters), easily breaking the Guinness World Records of 277 feet and 6 inches (84.58 meters) set by Trigger Gumm in 2005 in Australia. It also beat Ryan Capes's non-certified mark of 310 feet and 4 inches (94.59 meters). Capes, a native of Kent, Washington, set the unofficial record also in 2005.

The Aussie daredevil made two attempts at the record and landed perfect on both jumps.

"I'm just starting to realize what I did...Conditions weren't in my favor with the wind," said Maddison, who had to deal with a slight headwind during his death-defying stunt.

Maddison, 25, who hails from New South Wales, soared 350 feet during Sunday's practice under "terrific conditions." It was not certain, however, if Guinness will also certify that jump as a world record.

With a little more practice, Maddison said he could easily beat the 400-feet mark.

"I know I'm definitely going to do it," he said.

Maddison dedicated the longest motorcycle jump in the U.S. to stunt bike daredevil Evel Knievel, who recently passed away.

Ranked sixth on the U.S. freestyle motocross tour, he is tagged as the undefeated "King of the Coast" champion after winning consecutive titles.

A holder of two records, Maddison has been riding dirt bikes for more than 20 years.
