A three-year-old boy was temporarily trapped inside a crane vending machine when he managed to climb in through one of its chutes Thursday at a local area WalMart.

Danielle Manges took her boy to the store in the early morning hours after he had trouble sleeping due to illness. When she denied him money to play on the machine, he threw a fit and hurled a juice box. As his mother went to pick it up, the boy climbed inside.

She says, "Within two seconds he had climbed through the hole, into the chute and pushed the door shut so we couldn't get him out."

At first, James Manges' mother thought it was cute and even bought a disposable camera to take pictures of the boy, who swung like a monkey from one of the bars. Once Walmart employees told her they didn't have a key to open the machine, fire fighters had to be called in to release the boy.

They removed the back of the machine and returned James safely to his mother.
