Bacardi filed a motion for dismissal blaming rubbing alcohol for injuring three women in 2002. The women are suing the company for their injuries.

Bacardi maintains that a bartender at Secrets Adult Club in Miami used rubbing alcohol to do a flame trick on the bar. But the women said Bacardi's 151 Rum ignited the fire that injured them.

Danielle Alleyne, Antonette Hernandez and Agata Macierzynska said the bartender was pouring them shots of the liquor when a flaming menu was placed on some of the spilled spirits.

However, the company said a drunk patron caught a menu on fire from the bar's flaming tricks and then lifted in the air spreading the fire and harming the women.

In their motion the company said, "Indeed, rubbing alcohol is the sole named source of the fire. Bacardi had nothing to do with this misfortune."

The women contend that the 151 Rum causes injuries all of the time but no one does anything to stop it.

The women's lawyer, Robert Dickman Jr. said, "This same defect in the bottle has been injuring people around the country for years and they have done nothing to make this bottle safe when they know of the dangers. Justice will have its day."

The court has yet to answer Bacardi's motion.
