U.K. Sausage Thrower Case Dropped

Authorities decided to drop a case filed against a 12-year old boy accused of assaulting an old man with a sausage. A "notice of discontinuation" was issued regarding the case that called for the boy to be brought to court for the incident. The investigations have reportedly cost a total of Ł20,000 ($8,000).

SWAT Team Barges Into Wrong Home; Scared Home Owner Shoots Cops

SWAT team members kicked down the door of the wrong home, and were reportedly shot at by the surprised homeowner. The man was apparently frightened by the unexpected arrival of the officers, and grabbed the gun for defense. The SWAT's arrival at the wrong house was apparently due to bad information given to police, who were carrying out a search warrant. Two officers were hit by the shots, but their bullet-proof gear saved them from injury.

No More Letters For 'Any Wounded Soldier'

Hundreds of thousands of holiday greeting cards and get-well-soon letters for injured American soldiers were returned to sender or thrown away unopened and never reached their destinations. The Pentagon and Postal service have refused to deliver mail letters addressed to wounded troops since the September 11 attacks and the anthrax scare, for fear terrorists might send toxic materials or bad messages to the recovering soldier wounded during war.

Nun Says Offending Languages To Be Banned

Sister Kathy Avery, a principal from a catholic school will not tolerate bad words spreading in the school, and she will not hesitate mentioning the offending language to make sure everybody understands which words she do not want to hear from students. After a Mass last month, fifth to eight graders were gathered by the principal of St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School and informed that she had no tolerance for cursing.

New York Doorman Suspended For Bad Breath

In Manhattan, doormen with bad breath are at risk for suspension. The 60-year-old Jonah Seeman, who has been opening doors for tenants of four-building Gracie Gardens complex on East 89th Street for 40 years, has been thrice suspended because of halitosis.
