In Manhattan, doormen with bad breath are at risk for suspension. The 60-year-old Jonah Seeman, who has been opening doors for tenants of four-building Gracie Gardens complex on East 89th Street for 40 years, has been thrice suspended because of halitosis.

Three men robbed at gunpoint a couple of Boy Scouts selling Christmas trees Monday night. The thieves reportedly knocked the boys over, along with their fathers, and made off with $350. Both fathers and one of the boys were punched in the face.

American novelist Norman Mailer, who at 84 died due to renal failure just last month, became the recipient of the annual Bad Sex in Fiction Award, which identifies authors responsible for tasteless depictions of sexual acts in novels. The late author was given the award for his work on his literary description of the incestuous physical encounter between Adolf Hitler's parents.

Opposition leader Kevin Rudd has finally acknowledged the video which apparently showed him picking and eating his own ear wax in parliament, saying he wished his behavior could have been "more ideal. " The video, played in YouTube. com and circulated via email around the world, showed a younger Rudd doing the ear-dig thing during his earlier years as a member of parliament.

A corpse reported to the authorities Tuesday in Bad Segeberg, Germany was later found out as a drunken man in a Halloween costume, police said. The man fell into a drunken sleep while on a train ride home from a party in Hamburg. His zombie-like costume was mistaken by fellow passengers for a corpse.
