A suspected murder victim has been found to have committed suicide in an elaborate attempt to make his death look unintentional. Police who initially thought Thomas Hickman, 55, was murdered in New Mexico, after he was found duct taped and shot in the back of head. But now police say the Red Lobster executive re-enacted an episode of CBS's show "CSI" in which a man tied helium balloons to the gun he used to kill himself with so that the gun would float away, leading crime scene investigators to believe a murder was committed.

A mother was arrested for supplying nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, to her 13-year-old son and his friends. Maria Antonia Mendez, 28, allegedly gave the gas to the teenagers, who used it to get high. The teens were discovered after skipping school in Lake Elsinore, said Sgt. Evan Petersen of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Kent Couch flew 193 miles in nothing but a lawn chair and 105 helium balloons from his Oregon home last weekend. He could have made it longer but he didn't want to press his luck. Couch packed some snacks and plenty of water for the trip, which he made once before. In September he flew for about six hours but did not thoroughly plan the descent and had to use a parachute to make an emergency landing.
