A father in France has been accused of drugging his children's tennis opponents, in what may be a case of obsessive determination. Christophe Fauviau, a 45-year-old former military officer, testified in his trial on Friday about how their game collapsed after drinking courtside water.

An Indonesian TV station is in the midst of controversy as angry vendors lash out about a report that alleges that some sellers were using rat to make meatballs for their broth. Trans TV, however, stands by its Dec. 31 special. "We said it was true and backed up by our findings in the field," says Trans spokesman Ichwan Murni.

The U. S. Public Interest Research Group's latest holiday-time survey finds dozens of toys, still available on store shelves, contain hazards to children's safety. Dangerous toys include old standards such as latex balloons, as well as newer gadgets like yo-yo water balls - both described in the survey as potential choking hazards.
