If you do not have a net worth of 50,000 pounds ($100,000) in cash, consider yourself banned from an up market English bank in England. The HSBC bank in Poole, London has banned all its low-income customers unless they dish out a hefty monthly charge.
The bank, which has been highly criticized for its biasness, has agreed to let low-income customers to use ATM machines at the branch in Poole in Dorset on the southwest coast.
The Mirror reports that if the customers want to interact with branch officials they will either have to visit another branch a mile away or pay almost 20 pounds -- about $40 -- for a Premier Services account.
According to a bank spokesman, "Not everybody in the world is equal. Some people have higher incomes and need greater services through the bank. These customers demand a better service."
