Taking the cell phone craze to a whole new level, a woman was accused Friday of robbing four banks in suburbs around the District of Columbia - while talking on her cell phone. Authorities say the woman, casually dressed with dark sunglasses and cellular phone to her ear, walked up to the tell counter at each of the banks, showed the teller a handgun hidden in her purse and demanded money.

A woman never stopped talking on her cellphone as she robbed four banks in the Washington D. C. suburbs, a sheriff's spokesman says on Friday. In the most recent heist, the woman walked up to a bank teller in Ashburn, Virginia on November 4 and opened her purse to show a handgun and a note demanding cash, says Loudoun County sheriff's spokesman Kraig Troxell.

A woman dressed as a witch robbed a bank and vanished in the smoke of an exploding security dye pack, then apparently reappeared in street clothes and held up another bank, police said. The first robbery was reported when a woman wearing a shiny purple witch hat, cloak and long blond wig handed the teller a note indicating she had a weapon and demanding cash, Lacey police Lt. Phil Comstock says.
