A 22-year-old new mother wanted to hit two birds with one stone but health authorities got in the way of her plans. Martha Heller tried to sell 100 ounces (2. 8 liters) of her breast milk for $200 or to the highest bidder and even posted a newspaper ad to entice buyers. In the end, health authorities took notice and her milk ended up in the University of Iowa's Mother's Milk Bank.

A former Melbourne inmate has decided to buy his own former cell in a prison building which is now being converted into a residential and commercial complex. Graeme Alford, a former lawyer, had spent several years in Pentridge prison for embezzlement and robbery after his life spiraled out of control as a result of drinking and gambling. He had started stealing from trust funds and even attempted a failed bank robbery.

The Blickling Hall has been named the National Trust's most haunted property. The stately home in Norfolk is said to be haunted by three spectres including the headless ghost of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII, who was beheaded in 1536.

Two women in their early 20s were found dead inside a car after they apparently gassed themselves in Japan's latest suicide pact, police said Thursday. Investigators discovered two empty bottles that contained a bathwater additive and detergent, leading them to suspect that the two mixed the two liquids to generate toxic hydrogen sulfide gas. The two elementary school classmates were identified as 21- and 22-year-old women from Namegawa, Saitama Prefecture.

A series of ten-pound notes with blank print on the reverse are selling for $528 on eBay. According to a local paper, the Bank of England accidentally circulated up to 40 of the one-sided notes, although it clarifies the notes are still considered as legal tender.
