In a bid to promote HIV-AIDS awareness in the city, a government agency in the north Indian city of Chandigarh has opened a "Condom Bar" where instead of small change for bills, patrons are given packs of condoms. Standing true to its name, the bar has a condom logo featured on everything inside from the glasses used for serving drinks, interior decoration and waiters' uniforms.

A 32-year-old man from Franklin, Ohio, who tried to get away from police by jumping from rooftop to rooftop ended up in the hospital after he got stuck in a 15-foot-deep gap between two buildings. According to AP reports, Christopher Watts was wanted for a parole violation when he escaped from officers on Saturday and climbed onto the roof of a one-story bar.

A 46-year-old volunteer firefighter, wearing a woman's wig and a string bikini, was charged with taking a drunken afternoon romp through Heritage Oak Park in Mason in Ohio. Steven S. Cole, who pleaded not guilty to the charges of drunken driving, public indecency and disorderly conduct; said he was on his way to a Dayton bar to compete in a contest where the top prize was $10,000. Cole, a fireman from Waynesville thus put on a blonde wig, pink sandals, and a string bikini filled out with tan water balloons.

New Mexico on Tuesday declared the "bolo" tie as the official neckwear of the southwestern U. S. state. Bolo ties consist of a piece of a cord fastened with an ornamental bar or clasp. It's "our bipartisan fashion statement," Gov. Bill Richardson said as he signed the measure into law, according to the Associated Press reports.
