Reports indicate that breweries are concerned they might not be able to meet the demand for beer by the time of the final game of the tournament.

A pub owner in Leicestershire, England has decided to add a few of his own creative touches to the decoration of his pub - by turning it into his very own 'World Cup' by adding a grass soccer field inside. James Banbury, owner of the Old Swan, has turned his pub into the perfect place to watch this summer's most watched tournament.

Chinese newspapers reported on Friday that a ban on disco music in private rooms of nightclubs and karaoke bars have taken effect in an attempt to control the rise in illegal drug activity at Beijing's entertainment venues. The Beijing Times newspaper said, "Because many drug takers regularly dance and go crazy to upbeat 'disco' music in private rooms, police have specially requested karaoke machines not have this music. "

Playing pool during the daytime has now been banned by the Ugandan police because it encourages crime. According to a Reuters report, pool tables sit under canopies outside thousands of small bars in Uganda.

Getting away from their football-mad men, women and children are finding solace during the World Cup from a series of "soft" films. The AFP reports a number of cinemas in the northwestern city of Banja Luka said they were putting on a special selection of romantic flicks and cartoons to accommodate the World Cup "refugees".
