Five Albanian villagers who were falsely put behind bars for two weeks charged with growing cannabis were released after a court ruled the plant in question was actually industrial hemp. Martin Pellumbi of the Shkrel area farmers' association says, "I never imagined I would be pictured in the newspapers as the head of an international drug ring. It's one of those things that makes you cry and laugh at the same time. "

More than 200 partiers dressed like Saint Nick gathered in Los Angeles to do some pretty unsaintly things in the name of Santacon. It's a spontaneous, rollicking piece of performance art that, depending on who you ask, is known as Santacon (for "Santa Convention"), Santarchy (think anarchy), or Santa Rampage. The fun-loving Santas swarmed Los Angeles subways, sidewalks and bars doing some un-Santa-like things in the name of meaningless fun, the Los Angeles Times reported. Those in costume doled out oddities such as old credit cards and ramen noodles as Christmas gifts to passersby Saturday. They even stopped at bars to have a few drinks. Most onlookers say they were very amused.

A Mexican man is behind bars in federal custody after witnesses said he lunged toward the cockpit during a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu Saturday night. Passengers arriving on Saturday night's Northwest Airlines flight told authorities they were scared when Santiago Lol Tizol, 37, raged through the aisles, ignoring the flight crew and threatening to kill a baby.

A 40-year-old man is accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of toy Lego sets. William Swanberg, who remains behind bars pending a $250,000 bail, allegedly stole Lego sets from Target stores in Oregon by switching the bar codes of the boxes, covering over the pricing labels of expensive sets with labels from inexpensive ones.
