Dan Freeman is a retired computer consultant with a mission: To visit 1000 bars in a single year. The 60-year-old began his journey on January 1, 2005, and since then has managed to hit the halfway mark, visiting his 500th bar, The Gate in Brooklyn.

Baby Gets Trapped In Prize Machine

A three-year-old boy was temporarily trapped inside a crane vending machine when he managed to climb in through one of its chutes Thursday at a local area WalMart. Danielle Manges took her boy to the store in the early morning hours after he had trouble sleeping due to illness. When she denied him money to play on the machine, he threw a fit and hurled a juice box. As his mother went to pick it up, the boy climbed inside.
