A jail inmate in the Lincoln County Jail has reportedly filed a case against his cellmate after the fight broke out between two due to flatulence. Jesse Dorris, alleges that Bruggeman's flatulence, passed in close proximity to Dorris, caused a Dec. 14 fight between the two at the jail. Bruggeman, 38, now faces a Jan. 11 preliminary hearing on the state's complaint of assault by a confined person. Bruggeman is accused of hitting Dorris, his cellmate, when he pushed him into cell bars. Dorris, 26, was not charged.

In a bid to reduce drunk driving during the holidays, police are distributing pint glasses embedded with the logo of the Bennington Police Department to bars and restaurants. The glasses, police believe will remind those intoxicated of police presence and possibly help them control their alcohol intake. According to AP reports, T. J. Carmody, owner of Carmody's restaurant, which recieved three cases of the glasses last week said, ''It should give awareness to people and make them pay attention a little more. "

A Norwegian appeal court ruling has declared that striptease is an art and should therefore be exempt from value-added tax (VAT). Three judges ruled unanimously that "striptease, in the way it is practiced in this case, is a form of dance combined with acting. " It was compared to other stage acts that enjoy VAT exemption in Norway.

A New Jersey woman is suing Manhattan saloon Calico Jack's Cantina after she fell off a slippery bar and hurt ligaments in her left knee last summer during a "Shake It Like Shakira" contest in Manhattan, NY. Megan Zacher, 22, of Delanco, N. J. , fell at Calico bar on 42nd Street and Second Avenue on July 8, 2006, her attorney, Lawrence Simon, said Tuesday. He said the fall caused a torn knee ligament that required surgery.
